COMPETITION RULES
Only registered members are allowed to submit. Filmmakers who submit MUST VOTE on other films in that competition or their entry will be disqualified.
Multiple
films can be submitted for an additional $10 USD
per submission.
Submissions must conform to terms and conditions and
DELIVERY RULES. Any film not conforming to these rules may result in disqualification.
JURY LEVEL
Only winners from the ENTRY level who complete a second film will be entered in the JURY Level.
Jury level voting is done by the FILMAKA JURY of industry professionals. Watch interviews with Filmaka Jury members below.
For each new competition theme, one 1st Place Jury Level Winner wins $3000 and one 2nd Place Jury Level Winner wins $2000. Both go on to be Finalists in the yearly Feature Film Competition. One additional Special Jury Prize wins no cash, but also qualifies as a Finalist in the yearly contest.

WIN FUNDING FOR YOUR FEATURE FILM
Want to direct your own feature film? Enter this competition and we
might help you make that happen. Submit a short to the Feature Film
Competition about a given theme. Then vote - along with your fellow
members - on all of that round's submissions. Ten Peer to Peer
Winners and 5 to 10 Filmaka Selections win $500! Those Entry Level
winners will have one month and $1000 to make a follow-up film. The
follow-up, or "Jury Level" film, is judged by our Filmaka jury of
world-class film professionals.
We provide a theme to inspire and focus each filmmaker's work and to
ensure a level playing field. Be sure to stick to the theme or you may
be disqualified.
This month's theme is...
THE PARTY
All around the world, it's time to ring in the new year, celebrate the
holidays, and see old friends and family. It's time to pull out the
stops, put on your dancing shoes, find a band, and break out the
champagne and streamers. This is your excuse to invite everyone you
know - or don't know - to be in your film! Have fun being the master
of ceremonies!
Your submission must be 1 to 3 minutes long, and conform to our
DELIVERY RULES. When you upload your file, be sure NOT to give it
the exact same name as the competition theme - give it an original
title to help it stand out! All films are due by 24:00 hours on
January 12.
