Biography

After a, lets just say "long," career at FOX Broadcasting Company bookended by the launches of The Simpsons television series (1989) and The Simpsons Movie (2007), Jason Haikara currently co-runs Filmaka and Filmaka.com. He is honored to be working with such an amazing group of talented filmmakers and other creative artists from all around the world. In addition to his duties at Filmaka, Haikara is the Co-Chair of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Emmys.com Sub-committee and serves on its Marketing and Branding Committee. Haikara rose through the ranks at FOX as the network grew from a start- up to the powerhouse it is today. Early years included stints in the Sales, Affiliate Marketing, and Media Departments. He ran On-Air Planning for seven years, overseeing promo placement in network-controlled day-parts. From 2001 until the end of 2007, Haikara served as the network's Senior Vice President of Marketing, acting as the liaison between all areas of the department while directing Integrated Marketing and New Media. Major promotion initiatives during his tenure included Ford's sponsorship of 24's premiere without commercial interruption, AOL's The OC Music Showcase- a partnership with major record labels, and Burger King's The Simpsons roadblock across all Fox Interactive Media websites including MySpace and IGN. TheSimpsons.com won a Webby nomination for Best Television website while show-produced Fox.com content for the series Drive won a 2007 Primetime Emmy® nomination. Prior to FOX, Haikara spent six years in a management capacity for Toyota Motor Sales' port processing division in Boston, MA. He holds a B.A. in Communications from the University of Miami, Florida.
