Biography

Sammie was born and raised in Rotterdam, Netherlands. She started as an actress in the Netherlands but it was the editing and directing that fascinated her to switch sides. After five years in New York, she decided to reside in Hong Kong where she broadened her skills in editing, motion graphics, sound mixing and directing films, television commercials and promotional videos. She worked for several renowned Hong Kong directors including, Wong Kar Wai, Fruit Chan and Peter Pau. In 2005, she won a "Promax World Gold" award for the promotional image video "Pearl Reality Image". Since 2007, she started to produce and direct her own films, "The Russian Roulette" and "Club Elite", and is one of the founders of "BASIX media production" based in Hong Kong.
